Once successfully completed, you will receive the joint doctorate degree (PhD), which is internationally recognised and valid in all the countries participating in the consortium.
Key aspects to succeed in your doctorate
Each year you must submit a report signed by your supervisor. This document allows you to track your progress and record possible adjustments in your doctoral project.
In order to defend the thesis, you must publish your results in indexed journals, international congresses or other means recognised by the consortium. Credits are only granted if there is formal publication.
Universities such as Sopron and Bratislava require additional assessments (complex examination or departmental discussion) prior to public defence. Check with your supervisor for specific conditions.
In addition to the supervisor, you will have the support of the International Consortium and the Scientific Committee, based in Eisenstadt, for academic and organisational advice at all times.
You can request up to two semesters of temporary leave for personal or health reasons. During that time, no fees are paid and academic development is not permitted.
Before the final submission, the thesis must pass a professional linguistic review in English and an evaluation of originality using an anti-plagiarism system.
