Privacy policy
Privacy is of great importance to UNIVERSIDAD TECNOLÓGICA ATLÁNTICO MEDITERRANEO, S.L and we want to maintain an open and transparent attitude when processing your personal data. Therefore, we have a policy that sets out how your personal data is processed and protected.
I. Who is the Data Controller of your data?

II. What are the purposes of the processing?
At UNIVERSIDAD TECNOLÓGICA ATLÁNTICO MEDITERRANEO, S.L we process the data provided by interested parties in order to meet their request for information prior to registration via telematic means and/or telephone, during the registration period and other aspects inherent to it and in order to achieve the purposes detailed below:
- Processing, maintenance, development, management and control of the existing relationships between students and the University (Academic management of students; Management of student admissions; Management of student records; Student ID card; Management of the University's telematic platform.
- Recording of images in virtual campus work sessions for teaching purposes, if you have consented to this.
- Management of activity from the University (volunteering, sports, Student Advocate, Careers Department.
- Sending advertising, promotional or information that may be of interest to you through post, email, SMS, messaging applications (WhatsApp, Telegram, Line, etc.) and other means of electronic communication of the University, on its own services. All this based on the development of profiles through marketing studies and statistical and segmentation techniques and procedures that allow for improvements and the choice of offers of products and services suitable for their characteristics and needs, through internal sources, both prior to the date of request for information and after completing studies at the University, provided that due consent is available.
- Compliance with those legal obligations imposed on the University in any order, by administrative and /or judicial requirements.
- Management of curricula, to fill vacant positions at the University.
III. What type of data is processed at the University?
In accordance with the principle of data minimisation enshrined in data protection regulations, the data collected by the Universidad Tecnológica Atlántico Mediterraneo will be accurate and necessary for the purpose for which it is collected, with this mainly being the following; identification data, personal data, data of social circumstances, academic data and economic and financial data.
IV. What are the legal bases of the processing?
The legal bases of the processing based on the purposes described will be:
- art. 6.1.a) GDPR. The interested party gives express and explicit consent for the processing of their personal data for one or more specific purposes (purpose 2, 4 and 6).
- art. 6.1.b) GDPR. Processing necessary for the development and execution of the relationship formalised with you (purpose 1 and 3).
- art. 6.1.c) GDPR. Processing necessary for compliance with a legal obligation applicable to the Data Controller (purpose 5).
V. To what recipients will your data be communicated?
Your data will only be transferred to comply with legal obligations and in cases where you have consented.
VI. How long do we keep your data?
Personal data will be kept as long as you have not exercised your right to erasure, and will be kept taking into account the legal deadlines applicable in each specific case, the type of data and the purpose of the processing.
Subsequently, the data will be blocked during the legally established deadlines to meet the possible responsibilities arising from the processing.
VII. How did we obtain your data?
The personal data that we process at UNIVERSIDAD TECNOLÓGICA ATLÁNTICO MEDITERRANEO, S.L. has been provided by the interested party directly.
VIII. What are your rights in relation to our processing of your data?
The University informs you that you have the right to access your personal data and to obtain confirmation on how it is being processed. Likewise, you have the right to request the rectification of inaccurate data or, where appropriate, request its deletion when, among other reasons, the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it has been collected by the University.
In certain circumstances, you may request the limitation of the processing of your data, in which case the University will only keep this for the exercise or defense of possible claims.
Likewise, you may object to the processing of your personal data for the purpose advised by the University. In this case, the University will cease to process personal data, unless there are legitimate reasons, or to guarantee the exercise or defense of possible claims.
Finally, you may request the right to portability and obtain for yourself or for another service provider certain information derived from the contractual relationship formalised with the Entity.

To use any of these methods, it will be necessary to reliably prove the identity of the person who exercises their rights.
The University will provide the requested information within a maximum period of one month from receipt of the request. This period may be extended by another two months if necessary, taking into account the complexity and number of requests.
You may withdraw consent at any time, in the event that consent has been granted for a specific purpose, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing based on consent prior to its withdrawal.
You may lodge a complaint with the competent Data Protection Supervisory Authority. However, in the first instance, you may lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Officer.
