Modules in General Health Psychology: External Internships

The programme includes 30 ECTS credits of mandatory clinical internships in accredited healthcare centres. These placements allow you to apply your knowledge in real-life settings while developing professional health psychologist skills. The internships are divided into two stages: Internship I (18 ECTS credits) and Internship II (12 ECTS credits). You may carry out your placement in healthcare centres, psychology practices, hospitals, multidisciplinary clinics or institutions specialising in mental health.

If you already have accredited professional experience, Internship II may be validated, provided you can demonstrate a minimum of 24 months of full-time work in clinical and/or health psychology. You may also complete your internship at your current workplace, as long as the tasks assigned during the internship differ from your usual responsibilities and align with the skills of a health psychologist. In such cases, an Internship Agreement will be signed between your company and UTAMED.

If you prefer to undertake your internship in a new professional environment, UTAMED has agreements with leading clinics, practices and hospitals throughout Spain, giving you access to a broad network of specialist centres. Our team will guide you throughout the process and help you find the placement that best fits your profile and career goals. Partner institutions include:
