Requirements to access the University Master’s Degree in Legal Practice and Legal Representation

Students with university studies

  • Admission requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Law or another equivalent university degree that certifies the acquisition of the necessary legal competences.
     
  • Graduates from foreign universities must obtain official recognition of their qualification as equivalent to a Spanish Law degree before starting the master’s degree.
     
  • Conditional enrolment is not permitted for Spanish students who have not yet completed their final bachelor’s thesis or who have up to 9 ECTS credits pending.
     
  • A general declaration of equivalence to bachelor’s level is not valid; official recognition of a law degree is specifically required.

 

Preferred applicant profile

Graduates holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Law who intend to sit and pass the official entrance exam set by the Ministry of Justice, in order to obtain the qualifying qualification required to practise as a lawyer or solicitor.

 

Admission criteria

If the number of applications for the Master’s Degree in Legal Practice and Legal Representation is greater than the number of places available, UTAMED will use the following admission criteria:

  • Assessment of academic experience: ranking of academic experience corresponding to the master’s degree entry qualification.

     

Linguistic requirements

Any student who is not of Spanish nationality or from a country whose official language is not Spanish must demonstrate that their Spanish knowledge corresponds to at least CEFR level B2 or equivalent.
